Sun, 24th June 2007, Penang....

The Slow Movers are back on track after almost a month breaK...(ain't any offical runs ma...)..running the Penang Bridge Marathon. The Slow Movers were represented by 4 runners aka known as the Fantastic 4.....Jaya the Mr.Fantastic, Fuzahir the Thing, Chan the Human Torch N Su the invisible girl...were on the mission to complete the 22.3 km bridge run. The others went for Jacob's Walk of Life event at Taman Titiwamgsa KL...

Reached Penang on Friday malam.... put up at Sg Dua in my friend's (Mr.Guna) house....had the popular Nasi Kandar for dinner...The Next day.. after a nice breakfast we headed to the Island....Thank You Mr.Guna for your hospitality...While passing the Bridge.. the 4 were a kind of excited ..ala..kan nak lari kat sini the next morning!..... Dropped by at the Queensbay mall to collect the t-shirt and bib....Lepak kat Mall tu..looking 4 adidas Chiba Pro shoe...no stock.... checked in at the Waldorf hotel in Leitch road..a kind of happenin place but I was xxxxxxx....it's 12.30 pm...

Lunch...nasi kandar Line Clear....boleh lah...sampai I pun dah line clear...cam berkhayal......to full kot...Su went to meet a friend of hers and we went to Bernama. Chit chat with our collegue. (Mr.Zul)..then went for a site visit to c the starting N parking spot....kemudian balik hotel.....nak rest konon...cos kena pi awal...for the run. Evening ...just lepak around, Mr.Fantastic went for a hair cut N wash at the Bee Bee Saloon Spend some time at the Night market..ala cam pasar malam ss2 aje...had our light n easy dinner....chicken soup with bread at Restoran Hameed....and called off the day....!!!

Room No 119... The 3 were just lyin N tryin their best to sleep....but couldn't...watched the Malaysian FA cup match between Perlis N Johor PG....chti-chat..N got up at 1.00 am....dressed up in running attire...hardly had any sleep....zzzzzXX....called room no 121...ain't know what's goin on there... took of at about 1.30 am ....had a light simple breakfast... parked the car some distance away from the starting point N walked to USM. U can c participants coming from all the corners , states N countries to add more flavours n fun to the run. About 20,500 runners from all the world took part which is a malaysian gunniess record .


The 42.195 km starts at 3.00 am followed by the 22.3 km at 4.30 am...the mission 4 the fantastic 4 N the furthers so far for the Slow movers. Myself ..the Human Torch burned the calories and rocked the bridge for 2:04:04 followed by the Thing at 2:25 and Su....the invisible lady did the invisible finishing..... Mr Fantastic who came with us as an observer cum coach took part in the 10 km Fun Run...just to have fun ....yeah....Jaya just wanna have fun....collected our medals N goodies... Su dengan lutut yang xxx...walkin like someone who has just delivered N the Thing had some massage at the medical tent . We left USM at about 9.30 am ... We really had a lot fun thru out the Journey. We even had Kuiz lebuhraya hosted by Su.....Bye Penang.. C u Next Year....!!!

Sun, 20th May 2007, Padang Merbok KL...

It's 6.07 am. Wondering alone looking for xxxx mates to run the 15 k New balance run ..although I am not very much in balance today... Ever since the Big Walk i am havin some kind of pain at my calf...ain't no y...? couldn't find anyone....wooi...comin or not...? where r the slow movers...they r only suppose to be slow during the race..not all the time... .. I even ferterlize the plants twice while waitin... (nature call).... Did some very slow warm-ups as the calf aches everytime I make a fast move...Kena urut kot...calls for reporting at 6 45 am...

Sharp 7.00 am ..poooooooooooong, marks the start of 2007, 15k run... I started slow....as usual and couldn't increase the turbo ...sakit...semacam...( I mustn't N won't do anymore BIG walks)..... Our coach over took me...the rest of the Slow Movers..... movin slowly..at the back..as it is the first 15k for all of us. It was hilly ...same as the 2006 Mizuno run but we have to do two loops. The run was fun..as the weather was nice, power bar drinks at the water stations and a lot of hills....nice to run on the hills..manage to conquer all the hills cooly N slowly without stoppin...

Forgot to start the watch on time...so couldn't get the proper time....finished at 256 with the timing of 1:19 - 1:20. Our friend Javier..as usual the fastest in the group finished 70th in about 1: 10 N the coach finished
at the position of 132 in about 1:16. Abang got the second medal thru out his marathon career in the time of 1:50 N he has proven that he only can do the though ones.... Yang senang-senang tak mainlah.... Suriati ..the hardcore lady ( never say NO) finished in 2:00 and the ultimate runner of the day , Kakak Sumarni finshed it in 2:02. It's her first above 10 k run...Oops.. it's her 3rd but yang paling jauh setakat ni....she did it very well...Syabas !!! How about tryin Penang Half Marathon..kak?
How did she manage to run the hills..? First few hills...I can..cann..cannn..cannnnnnot....to the last hill... says kak in an exclusive interview...by Starsports with the runner of the day.The Slow mover are goin further N ......Keep on Movin Slow Movers....One day we all will B doin the Marathon...

It was a shinny day...I was lepaking around the lake at about 7.00 am looking for
my running mates...to run the 5 km Charity Run........While in search collected my T-shirt..( green... fav color)...environmental friendly.. Jumpa the happening Sanusi family members...met Abang's wife n the kid..(New Entry).. Jaya joined in... after warm up kot....belum start..dah berpeluh...was in his full force..wanna compete with the Kenyans... Javier was still on his way...kot ..cos we didn't c him around...Myself ..just wanna do it cooly..cos i was high...(song by afroman)...U know Y...? Did some cha-cha...shake here , twist there..... Javier is missing all these...

The race was flaged off..all of the sudden ... earlier...not at 8.00 am but 7.50 am. Javier was late but manage to compete..As usual , the coach used his turbo at the start...followed the Kenyans but couldn't stand long...he gave up..half way thru N finishes the 5 km in 23 : 40 . My self slowly N cooly finishes the race in 25:02 . Our friend Javier, overtook all of us (super Turbo) N finished the race in 20:35. Well Done..buddy!

Collected the goodies ( Hotel Istana) N met up at a place dan biasalah...it's time for Selamat pagi Malaysia ...Bincang about issue semasa...Uncle Steven, Ms Julie N friends N Kak Ida n the kid too joined in. It was a big group..filled with a lots of Love N Fun...the Malaysian Spirit...keep it up....!!!. The Siemen run would be on the 8th July. The FTAAA officals were distributing the forms...took a few...

Left about 9.30 am...Bye folks...

May 13 is a very meaningful day cos it was Mothers day, World Asthma Day, World Athelete Day N World Nurse Day....

Sun, 6th May 07, Dataran Merdeka ....

The Alarm beeps n beeps.... opened my eyes...What ..I am at the office...N it's 5.30 am... what am i doin here...Kerjalah siooot!... Had a short nap while on duty,,kkakakkaka ..it's time to get ready for the Bomba 10k run. I can hear the sound of the wind blowin at the range of 60 km/h.... n the cloud becoming darker...yeah..it's gonna rain for sure..N hmmm it was heavy...went down to the guard post n waited for the rain to subside...Saw the coach riding the bike ..hujankeh...ributkeh..coach tak kisah...very determine to run... Hopped in his car...reached at around 7.10 am...parked at Bukit Aman.....checked in ..saw Javier, Su,Abang and their friend Ms. Estelle Looi Mei Lin..( Ex Miss Malaysia-Universe 2004 2nd runners up)... A Mixture of Greece n Chinese.... Check-out Harian Metro - Tuesday ,8th May 2007...

The Race organised by the BOMBA Malysia was officiate by Local home Minister Datuk Ong Kaa Ting ..sharp at 7.30 am. It was very cold run n it took a long time for the body of mine to heat up..almost about 8 km...baru dapat On turbo....The coach N Javier awal-awal lagi dah turbo....It started to drizzle again half way thru..Javier finsihed in 49:15 at the 40th position, our coach was the last medalist (75) for the day in the men open with the timing of 53:55. Viva Coach. Myself finished in 54:42 (88) followed by our friend Rosta Lee.... Collected the Cert...It was really very cold as I was in the state of shiverin...Oh Boy!!.....Kalau Hujan lebat macam kat PD.....kan best ..Syok to run....

Met up with other Slow Movers...Izzat,Kakak, Makcik,Su,Abang N Kekawan. As usual..apa lagi..Makcik n Kakak were the medalist for the Women Veteran Catergory. Took some pics...chat N chat.....post mortem about the run,...the next run....n etc... Su handed the Vest N Bib for the 15 km New Balance run. The Vest was not bad... I had to make an early exit as I need to get back to the Off. ... Met Ms Yang Chik from Negeri Sembilan at the car park... Shared our running experiences.. She looks young as her name sounds....but she said she is in her mid 40's.....Aaaaahh ..Chan tertipu lagi.... Very hard to judge the age of a runner / athlete...!!! Gave her the Blog's url...hope that she joins us n keeps in touch... Sayonara...!

It was a very Shinny day. Siddex-Sidana held the first Badminton doubles open tournament which was
organised by BRC n sponsored by Edu Smart,Great Eastern, Dtgd cons , Sri's Saloon N Amway. It started at about 9.00 am .Venue: Siddex-Sidana Indoor Arena, Kayu Ara. It was packed with players , officals N supporters. 8 pairs were battling 4 the BRC trophy (sponsored by Great Eastern). The partners were choosen thru ballot system in order not to favour anyone. It was a round robin system. Divided into two groups with 4 pairs each. Each pair has to play 3 matches N the top two of the group will be playin in the semi's.

N styles. After the long hours of shuttling , the finalist were Regis-Suren N Muru-Thiru. The Final weren't that exciting as expected... too tired kot atau ......! ANyHow the BRC trophy goes to..... Regis-Suren pair.
Syabas!!....Then ...what else..Makan-makan N Chaowlah at about 3.00 pm.

After the walkin N badminton.... I am back to running ... C U at Bomba Run... on Sunday! Bye...

Sun , April 29, Dataran Merdeka KL..

It was a wet Sunday, as it was rainning the whole Morning ....Syok tidur siot....tak ada mood nak pi...if only shake tak call ...I dah Zzzzzzzzzz. Got up at 5.45 am. mandi kerbau....n drive terus...masih drizling lagi....Parked the car at Bkt Aman car park N walked to Dataran Merdeka. just on time...Met Javier N Robert. Checked in ....7.10 am..the Federal Teritory Minister flagged off the 10 km walkers...

A lot of friends were there to participate N to support. As usual... how would an event might take place without the presence of the Sanusi family...almost the entire Sanusi's clan were there .... ++ Javier,Robert, Shake's family, Fairul, Linda , Jamilah N Haizan ....all came to fill up the crowd...memang ramai minat fun walking... keh..atau cuci mata...!!.. It was memang crowded.

We walked N walked ...at times I felt like wanna run...but tak berani... walked for 1:30:23 . Walking is not as fun as Running. I ain't enjoy walking....The finishing part..it sucks...full of mud....Oh my new Rm quarter thousand shoe....gone..no chioce...have to step on the mud...it's everywhere... collected the cert , washed the shoe , looked for the Slow Movers n friends, couldn't find anyone.. collected the goodies which was worth more then the 10.00 entrance fee. Walked back to the car park..

On the way , met these two ladies, Mrs Mag n her sister. we were basically sharing our walking experiences ..they we walkin for the sixth time N it's the first for Chan. Mrs mag told me that she is in her early 50's. Oh my god, she looked like a lady in her late 30's. ( Tips to stay young ... Exercise,Diet, Lifestyle N Discipline). She also does jungle trekking at Bukit Gasing ....I was offered to join in..well.......
might try ....but dun know when....

Campak all the goodies in the car...N when back to look for friends. Met Mr Jacob, my friend's pa , Mr Jasmile Singh N finally the keluarga Sanusi. They were in a big group and it was nice to c the entire family.... The Malay-Mail family of the day award goes to ..... .... ..... Keluarga Sanusi...!

It's yet a another 10km race organized by the Power Team and the Slow Movers were powered up too.
The Sanusi family, Agus, Jaya, Zahir, Javier N Myself were there to add some excitement to the run.
Our coach Jaya was there after a long break. Jaya's last run was in Sept 06. Welcome back coach!!!.....

The race was officiated by deputy minister Datuk Palanivel , sharp at 7.30am.... I only saw Jaya N Kelvin (NST) at the starting point . The rest of SM N friends.... ..tak nampak pun???...It was a hilly run...around the Bukit Tunku Area to Jalan Duta. I just ran in a steady pace all the way. Finished the race in 53:02 min at the position of 88 in the Men's Open. Medals were given to the first 150 finishers. ...As usual Makcik N Kakak were the Medalist too in the 7km women veterans. ( Sandaran dan Harapan SM )...Old is Power !!

Suriati had the knee pain again and at a point she couldn't even move. Almost to be fetched by the Ambulance but somehow slowly finished the race. ...Slow Movers maa ! N yet she registered for 22.3 km Penang Bridge Run ....apa nak jadi ni dan bilalah ah moi ni nak pi check up ...?
Makcik, Abang N Kakak should N ought doing something about it ......The SM don't wanna lose a runner..

Lepak around the Sultan Abdul Samad Building (nearby to the clock). Met Javier's Kenyan friends ( Robert N ......) , Abang's NST friends N Makcik's friend. Chaoaw at about 10.00 am. Agus followed me back as we had plans to donate blood in conjuction of Wesak Day. Bathed N had Breakfast. My cousin Danesh fetched us to the Chempaka Buddisht Temple nearby Kayu Ara as she too wanna be a donor.

We registered N went thru all the regular check up routine. My cousin couldn't donate as she has less iron in her body ( kena makan besi buruk kot..) and Agus just came back from Indonesia in Feb... (pendatang haram). A foreigner must have stayed in Malaysia for at least a year in order to donate blood. So both of them have to wait for the 450 ml of my blood to drain out from my body. Sent Agus to Kelana Jaya LRT station.
